Eyes of the Reaper

*Ordinary Person x Grim Reaper Zhu Xi has a pair of unusual black eyes. She can often see a black silhouette. Sometimes it is only as tall as a human; at other times, it towers like a lofty mountain. It crouches down and watches the passing ants, like a cruel child. She has learned from experience, and the pattern is simple: when she sees the former, someone nearby is often about to suffer an acute cardiovascular emergency, a murder of revenge, or a car accident. When she sees the latter, it means a horrifying... disaster. More importantly... she must never try to change the fate of someone under its gaze. Zhu Xi has tried, and never once succeeded. As time passed, Zhu Xi's heart hardened. She usually pretended not to see it, and could maintain the illusion that everything was fine. Until one day, she suddenly realized that it seemed to have its eyes on her. [Notes] A suspense novella Third-person narration Contains a small amount of rhetorical sophistry Theme: Live well
