Miss U

A year and a half later, Ye Li once again logged into Da Huang.

She appeared in the misty, rain-soaked Liuyun Crossing. The ferry landing was as bustling as ever, but not one ID belonged to anyone she knew. People came and went in the game. More than a year had passed, which felt no shorter than ten years in real life. The world had shifted through countless unions and divisions; people came and went, each scattering in their own direction. Standing among the crowd, she felt the world-weary weight of someone who had seen through it all. Just then, the name of a female Bing Xin caught her attention.

The female Bing Xin was called Mi Xiu.

Ye Li thought the name sounded awfully familiar. She figured it had to belong to someone she'd met at least once before, and racked her brains for a long while. Then, all at once, it came to her: Mi Xiu was the dog that bitch had raised.

A golden retriever.

She couldn't help snickering to herself. This top-tier Bing Xin had the same name as a dog.

But, as if possessed, Ye Li secretly typed in the current channel.

[Current] Ye Li: [Cute face] Hey, top-tier Bing Xin, why are you called Mi Xiu? Is there some deeper meaning to those two characters?

After waiting a long while, a reply appeared in the current channel.

[Current] Mi Xiu: miss u

In that instant, the noise and bustle faded away. She stood rooted to the spot, her heart in turmoil. A blink later, tears fell onto the keyboard. The ferry at Liuyun Crossing sailed on as always, but it could not carry away all her sorrow.
