(Hunter) The Wooden Shoe Doesn’t Fit

According to the customs of the Lutan people, a suitor must give the person they love a pair of wooden shoes that fit perfectly, with both their names carved into the soles. If the recipient tries them on and taps the heel of the left shoe against the heel of the right three times, it means: "I want to take root here like a tree and stay by your side." If they don't try them on, it means: "I want to wander like the wind and search for my love." The shoemaker must leave the other person a pair of wooden shoes with their own name carved into them, then use the pair bearing the recipient's name as a flowerpot and plant the recipient's favorite flower in it. The shoemaker gives it back on the recipient's birthday the following year.

Since you can't ask for someone's shoe size while making the wooden shoes, few people would refuse a pair that fits perfectly.
