In the sixth year of Chengdi's reign, Princess Anning fell gravely ill and requested to be buried with the King of Yelang. The Regent rejected her plea and ordered the matter reconsidered.
Half a month later, Princess Anning passed away. Before she died, she left these final words: If she could not be buried with the King of Yelang, she would rather have her bones ground to dust than leave behind a single remnant.
Following the princess's last wishes, the Regent buried her ashes on a green mountain a hundred miles outside the capital, without a tomb, grave goods, or guards. Later generations called the mountain Princess's Tomb.
