A Subordinate's Secret

Plato: I opened a matchmaking agency that specializes in solving romantic problems. Wherever there are people, there is love, and where there is love, there is heartbreak. My job is to comfort the lovelorn and promote the single life, so I can help people find their perfect match. There are so many people in this world that business has always been booming. But I have one regret: I have a secret. I've been alive for more than four thousand years, and I never age or die. Even my wounds heal on their own. To keep this secret safe, you can imagine how much time I have to spend thinking up new names, forging identities, and learning all kinds of skills. I can't help it. It's what life demands. Eventually, I couldn't bear doing all this work alone, so I decided to hire an assistant. This assistant had to be easy on the eyes, warm and charming, widely read, and ready to pull out all sorts of obscure and impractical knowledge to bluff customers. My friends said it wouldn't work, but I was determined to find this one special assistant among millions. And then that person walked through the door of my agency, making my eyes light up among the crowd. Her name was Shen Yu, and she was about as far from the assistant I wanted as you could get. I regretted it bitterly afterward. [Announcement] Going VIP on the 4th, with three chapters released. Thank you for being here. Theme:
