Flower Cakes
A story about a deity surnamed Xu and a ginger flower spirit. I hesitated a little over whether to label this as fan fiction, since both Xu Xian and the ginger spirit are real names in our friend group. It seems my understanding of fan fiction was off after all. Feel free to take a look if you're interested!
You're welcome to check out the other stories Yaoyao wrote: the short stories "Tanghulu" and "Cotton Candy Clouds," as well as the lighthearted long-form story "Ten Thousand Years - White Jade Canopy" (and don't forget to add the long one to your library!).
Theme:
It starts off very simple, and the last part is very emotional.
I read your Flower Cake again, and I want to confess one thing to you. In fact, I don't really like the Cotton Cloud work you wrote later (forgive me), but Flower Cake is a very successful work in my opinion, with almost no faults.
This time I read your article carefully, so I am qualified to tell you more about my opinions~ Let's talk about the author first. Writers are all writing about themselves, either about their own lives or about the depths of their souls. Although the life and innermost feelings of this article express things that seem to have little to do with you, you can still get a glimpse of the author's heart from the text, at least some subtle hidden emotions. When I read your new article Cotton Cloud, I only have one feeling. I feel that the demon is a delicate and pure woman with delicate emotions. But now I feel that it is not entirely true. But no matter what, your article also reveals a little girl's love model, sincerity and desire for love. It is this model that makes people feel affection and pity. When it comes to works, I usually read articles in the following steps: depth of content, author writing style, inner state of mind of the author. In terms of content, this is a poignant love story. I saw many people below saying that it is sadistic, but I think it is okay because this is the original state of emotion and fate. So this article is a good interpretation of the topic of reincarnation, cause and effect and fate. In terms of writing style, the context is clear and the language is well embellished. Obviously, among these steps, I care most about the depth of the content of a work. Therefore, the flower cake written by the author is one of my favorite works here. I hope the author will keep working hard and write more perfect works in the future. I read Zhi Tu's comment a few days ago. In fact, I didn't read your article seriously at that time. However, after I read it carefully, I want to say to Zhi Tu, don't read the article only from your own point of view, but read it more from the author's point of view, to see what the author wants to express. So in this story, it is obvious that the author wants to use the final sadomasochism to establish the relationship between Xu Xian and Jiang Yao, but I cannot deny that it is really good for Zhi Tu to see this. In fact, I do not completely deny Zhi Tu's view of the relationship between them. Because the author greatly created Xu Xian and Jiang Yao as two people with different concepts of love. Perhaps to put it another way, the word love has a vague definition in this world. A passionate person like Jiang Yao will define the feeling of being moved, attached and attached to a person as love in her heart. But can you say that she is wrong with this definition? For Xu Xian, he must like and have emotions for Jiang Yao. This kind of like and admiration is enough for Jiang Yao to make her feel love. The word love may not really exist in this world, but love will exist in the hearts of different people with different feelings. I prefer to describe love as a special emotion for another person. It just so happens that Xu Xian and Jiang Yao can get the special emotion that is important to them in each other. Maybe the author just wants to tell us a poignant love story. However, the extravagant context of this love story happens to make us dig deep into a helplessness about the reincarnation of fate. And different views and interpretations of the emotions between Xu and Yao "Wen Zun looked at the Goddess of the Flower Realm who was sitting at another seat in the hall. Little Blue Fairy was close to Shuran Shenjun watching him flipping through the book for a long time." I copied this sentence to explain two points. First of all, I explained your article very seriously. I read it word for word, so I was thinking when I read this sentence. Could this sentence be changed to make it more fluent like this: "Wen Zun looked at the immortal of the Flower Realm Lord who was sitting on another seat in the hall, and the Little Blue Fairy leaned over Shuran Shenjun to watch him flipping the book for a long time." Finally, I would like to explain that I am a little touched when I leave you a review so late at night. Haha, act like a coquettish girl and act cute. Good night.
The image is so strong. When Xu Xian fell behind the broken old tree and saw the ginger demon in the field of corpses, I actually thought of the scene in Edge of Tomorrow where the lieutenant colonel saw the female war goddess Rita. Combined with the ending of the story, I really want to love you even to death. For you, I am willing to die a thousand times! Jiang Hua said, "Well... The osmanthus cake is delicious, can I... Follow you?" I really like the soft and cute beauty.
The writing is great, I read it for the second time, it's so cruel T^T I can't watch such sad things, my whole body feels bad T^T
Finished reading! But why is he so sad and unhappy! I like that last sentence very much, it means so much! If you watch it carefully, you will probably be tortured. Sorry, I watched it too fast!
I finally have time... Come over here and take a look at your flower cake, what a big ginger demon~
Leave a comment after reading it. . Relative. . . Don't just walk away like that
"If I want to be reduced to ashes, I will end up in your arms." After thinking about it over and over, I realized that Xu Xian actually didn't love Jiang Yao. This discovery makes me more heartbroken than the ending. He helped her on the boat as a good deed; he bore the calamity for her as a responsibility; he went through reincarnation for her as a redemption. If you think about it carefully, these are actually just for yourself, for your great kindness that is compassionate to heaven, but it caused Jiang Yao to sink step by step until he was beyond redemption. Jiang Yao knew it. She knew that no matter who Xu Xian was, she would do this, but she selfishly thought that she was different from others. She said; "You all don't know how good Xu Xian is." Jiang Yao weaved a dream for herself. In the dream, Xu Xian saved her, protected her, and made flower cakes for her. She would rather not survive the disaster than kill her. She exchanged her willfulness in this life for Xu Xian's companionship in several lifetimes. In the dream, she and Xu Xian were secretly in love with each other. Later, when she woke up from the dream, Jiang Yao knew that she had bound herself and Xu Xian, so she used her ashes to die for Xu Xian to survive the disaster, and she used her ashes to die in exchange for Xu Xian to remember her. Jiang Yao wants Xu Xian to know She is not your act of kindness, but your love that can save her, protect her, accompany her and make flower cakes for her. Jiang Yao did it. But she will never be able to see the memory that Xu Xian treasured for her. That memory has become a forbidden place that Xu Xian can no longer touch. Jiang Yao did not transform Xu Xian into a demon because she would never do it. She was Xu Xian's calamity for several lifetimes, but Xu Xian was her eternal calamity.
Arrogant and constant, as long as I remember your appearance in this world, it is enough.
