This story is an absolute deep dive, spanning both the martial world and the imperial court.

I've always thought wuxia was the hardest kind of historical fiction to write, but I'm still going to follow my heart and indulge myself. History is a weak point for me, so this is a fictional setting.

One part tragic romance, two parts heroic sacrifice, three parts warmth, four parts devotion. The ending is nine parts beautiful, with one extra chapter to twist the knife (yes, it has a happy ending).
