The Sun and Moon of the Mastiff God

They fight for food and kill for territory, yet are willing to risk their lives only for the one master they acknowledge. That is the devotion of a Tibetan mastiff. A wandering spirit from another world drifted through heaven and earth, having forgotten everything. When he got the chance to be reborn, he nearly froze to death in the icy wilderness, or ended up in the jaws of jackals. But Tibetan mastiffs are brave and proud spirits, even in the harshest surroundings. He survived, and became a once-in-a-century “Heavenly Hound.” Just as the freedom he had always yearned for seemed within reach, that proud soul was branded with an eternal bond. That man did not understand him. Yet he was the only master worthy of his acknowledgment. So he left the home where he had survived and followed the man into human society. The man held a noble position, possessed peerless martial arts, and had the most incorrigible temperament. When he became human, he only belatedly realized that everything had changed. The wheel of fate began to turn. Kingdoms rose and fell across the land, and at last another age of turmoil arrived. In that turbulent era, he and the man would begin their own story. [Author’s Note] This story came about after I read Wolf Totem. I never expected to keep writing it for so long, and I’m grateful to everyone who has supported this book all along. My current plan is to finish the first volume in 2011 if I can. I can’t let the end date keep getting pushed back indefinitely... Then I’ll start the second volume. I’m working out the overall plot now, though the war scenes will be on a much grander scale, so I can only do my best~ Lately I’ve been reading all kinds of novels featuring war scenes, special forces, and the military... I even nearly went looking for The Little Things of the Ming Dynasty, biographies of Genghis Khan and Napoleon... If anyone knows any good books about war, please recommend them~ Chapter 25 introduces the characters, so please be sure to check it out~ Feel free to leave comments and suggestions, and don’t hold back~
