My Beloved Consort

I wrote this story after recently hearing Hou Xian's song "My Beloved Consort" and being moved by it. I've watched lots of historical dramas, and you can't really say whether the women scheming against each other in the imperial harem are right or wrong. They resort to schemes only because they love too much, because they care too much... I recommend listening to "My Beloved Consort" while you read. It really sets the mood.
