They Say I'm Cannon Fodder

I'm Zuo Shu, a carefree idiot of a teenager. During the vacation after my high school entrance exams, I found someone and handed him over to the police. Then I moved house. My dad said, "Son, you're not human." I said, "Dad, you've been reading too many novels." Turns out I really wasn't human. I was a fish. Then someone suddenly appeared in my life and told me I was a minor character in a book. A minor character who, because of his merfolk blood, happened to help the protagonist twice, only for the protagonist's enemies to kill his entire family. Me: "Heh. You've been reading too many novels." Then reality left me no choice but to believe it. A friendly reminder: 1. The first volume is told from the protagonist's first-person perspective. 2. This story has no outline, so don't believe any previews of what's to come. 3. There may or may not be a pairing, and there may or may not be a happy ending for everyone. 4. If you want to read this, leave a comment. There's a 90 percent chance this story won't get published, and the author may abandon it if they run out of motivation. Don't put too much faith in the author's integrity. 5. The author's imagination has always run wild, so please stay calm if there are any wild plot twists or setting reveals. 6. Please don't track the rankings. (Even if you do, I won't look.) I won't respond to malicious reviews, and it's absolutely not because I'm scared; I just can't be bothered with you. The author has to write, play crappy games, and look for a job. 7. The author has a lot going on and may add more rules at any time.
