[Western Fantasy] The Persecuted Protagonist

??: This is what you get for playing with someone's feelings.

To test the stability of the world, he murdered the protagonist. To make sure he succeeded, he deliberately got close to him, becoming his rival, a passerby, a lackey, a buddy... Again and again, he wiped the slate clean and started over. Once the job was done, he left without a trace, leaving the protagonist with a wound straight through his heart.

--Now the wronged party has come knocking.
