Elves were the first beings to appear in this world, followed by humans. Among them, the Sindar elves were friendly and gentle, and loved nature. They enjoyed feasting in the woods and listening to birds sing.
They may not have been very clever, but they were more dangerous.
The elves lived in peaceful Belland. No one knew why this land drew the dragons of the North. That year, all they saw was a towering blaze burning from the north. The price of fighting the dragons was steep: their king, Thranduil, lost his wife, and Legolas lost his mother...
The elves had no choice but to transmigrate across the Gladden Fields, reaching Emyn Duir north of the Old Forest Road. They settled among the Silvan elves and named that forest Mirkwood.
