Love's Tribulation on the Other Shore of the Underworld

The Netherworld Palace stands on the banks of the River of Forgetfulness. Scarlet flowers, red as blood, grow along both shores, the only scenery on the road to hell. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sits cross-legged in the central seat of the Netherworld Hall, palms together and eyes half-closed. "Bai Feifei, from this day on, you shall be the Bodhi ferryman, Bodhi Feifei. Guide the souls of the dead and guard the River of Forgetfulness."
