Here's what happened… Many years ago, the world was divided into five different continents: Red, Blue, White, Black, and Green. The strongest person on each continent was a Priest, possessing extraordinary power and enjoying the blessings of a sacred artifact as well as absolute rule. The Red and White continents gradually became the two strongest, far outstripping the other three, and so the Red-White War began in the far north. While the fighting raged and neither side had won, a dazzling beam of purple light burst from the ground at the North Pole's center. Enormous monsters, never seen before, poured out of the light. This was the legendary World Rift. (Other worlds could enter this one through the World Rift, and people from this world could use it to travel to others. It was said that the opening of a World Rift marked the beginning of a world's destruction.)… The Red and White continents immediately stopped fighting and joined forces against the monsters. The Priests of Red and White sealed the World Rift together, but they died from exhaustion. The Red and White armies lost their Priests and suffered heavy casualties, greatly weakening their power… From then on, the five continents returned to a state of relative balance, mutual restraint, and relative peace, while continually strengthening the seal on the World Rift at the North Pole… Until one day, to everyone's shock, the seal was broken…
