You spoke of misty rain and distant views from the Orchid Pavilion;
Later, you gently drew me close, hiding my colorful robes.
You spoke of radiant spring days, green sleeves and fragrant red blossoms;
Later, you shut yourself away in the western tower, standing quietly beside me.
You spoke of soft breezes and lying drunk, lost in thought;
Later, you tightly shut the doors and windows, and the curtains became our sorrow.
You spoke of tender hearts and tangled feelings: how could we ever forget?
But I only turned my gaze slightly, and frost gathered on its own.
