Yellow Springs Road, don't let your weeds grow wild and frighten me. Bridge of Helplessness, don't let your waves surge and swallow me. Meng Po's soup, don't make me forget everything and turn heartless. Flowers of the Other Shore, don't bloom so brightly and make me miss you. Palace of the Underworld, don't let your chilling darkness seep into my bones. King of Hell, don't write my sentence and mock me for dying young. Road of Reincarnation, don't stretch out endlessly and hurry me along.
Still, the ways of the world are impossible to escape. The people and things of this mortal realm are all caught up in the mundane. The world is too complicated, and those who live in it cannot remain untouched by dust. But it is precisely amid all this confusion that people come to understand the true meaning of life. We stumble along, searching and seeking, having cried and laughed, suffered and been hurt, known sweetness and despair. Only when we reach the end of life do we suddenly realize that all the struggles of this lifetime were really about finding someone who understands us.
