Promise of the Golden House

Liu Che stared at the decree A Jiao had drafted for him, unable to believe his eyes. "The empress has violated propriety and prayed to spirits, bringing calamity upon others. She is unworthy of the Mandate of Heaven. She is ordered to surrender the empress's seal and ribbon, relinquish her position, and retire to Changmen Palace." His heart twisted with pain as he asked again and again, "Why? Why?" A Jiao smiled at him, a tear sliding from the corner of her eye. "I won't let anyone stand in your way, even if that person is me." P.S. This story is mostly sweet, with angst appearing here and there. The ending is not guaranteed. History buffs, fans of Wei Zifu, fans of Lady Li, and fans of Lady Gouyi, please don't read. (⊙o⊙)… Report complete.
