That's why many of the plot points and details in my novel follow Magic Kaito. Sharp-eyed readers may notice the classroom seating arrangements, as well as the characters' hair and eye colors.
To be honest, the Akako here is already completely different from her original anime counterpart. The usual Akako, who laughs wildly without a care, reveals her calm and thoughtful side here instead of using loud laughter to hide it all the time. She's also more reserved about her feelings. You might think, "Why has this author gone off track and started writing romance?" All I can say is that every fanfic is bound to differ from the original. As everyone knows, and it's a little sad to say, an official Kaito-and-Akako pairing is impossible. Since the pairings are different here, the style is bound to be different too.
