When Yuxuzi, the head of the Kunlun Taoist Temple, passed away, he left behind only these few words.
For a time, everyone was gripped by fear.
Kunlun Mountain was once an immortal mountain. Legend has it that it rises 11,114 steps and 2.6 inches high. At its foot lies the Weak Water, which even feathers cannot float upon. Beyond it is Flame Mountain, where sacred trees grow and burn without ever being consumed. At the summit of Kunlun Mountain stands the Yellow Emperor's Lower Capital, with the Enlightened Beast guarding its gates.
The Kunlun Taoist Temple, however, was not built on Kunlun Mountain. It had merely borrowed the name of this immortal mountain.
Before long, rumors began to spread among the people that a "savior" was living in seclusion on Kunlun Mountain.
But Kunlun Mountain was surrounded by snow all year round. How could anyone be seen there?
And so our story begins on this immortal mountain.
