Synopsis

When I was nine, I became fascinated with browsing morning markets and buying vegetables. I came to understand that “vegetables are like people,” and I also began to think that “women are like soup.” Kind women are sweet soup, fierce women are sour-and-spicy soup, deep women are rich broth, innocent women are clear soup, easygoing women are chilled soup, and passionate women are scalding soup. Everyone has their own favorite kind of soup. So we can’t simply judge women by saying, “Oh, she’s a good woman,” or, “Hmm, she’s a bad woman.”

At nine, I made up my mind: I might never become the most beautiful woman, but I would simmer myself into the most beautiful bowl of soup.
