Painting the Rivers and Lakes: Black and White Impermanence

In the final years of the Tang dynasty, the realm descended into chaos. Regional warlords carved up the land, and heroes rose up on every side.

Zhu Yougui was a master of martial arts. Disguising himself and concealing his identity, he took over the realm's foremost assassination organization, the Xuanming Order, from Zhu Wen. In public, he obeyed Zhu Wen and served as his right hand. In secret, he cultivated his own followers in a bid to seize the throne.

Hao Ling was born the son of a wealthy family in Jiangnan. He had an adopted younger sister named Xuan Ling. Though his mother died in childbirth and his father remained cold toward him, he wanted for nothing and had Xuan Ling by his side, so his life was easy and carefree.

But all that happiness vanished in a single night. His home was destroyed and his family killed. To protect Xuan Ling, he had no choice but to join the Xuanming Order, becoming ruthless and cunning in order to survive.

After weathering many storms, they came to feel the world's cold indifference. They were the only warmth each other had.

With so many lives taken, neither righteous nor wicked, amid this vast mortal world, only you and I remain. In this boundless land, where can we find a place to call home?

Through the eyes of the Chang siblings, this story will reveal a legendary world of martial heroes!
