His pointed ears twitched. With unbelievable speed, he raised his wings and took off, wobbling into the air just before an enormous leather shoe came down.
"Hm?" The shoe's owner let out a low, puzzled sound, casually catching the thing that had suddenly flown out from beneath his foot. But when he got a good look, he froze.
