Meeting Across a Thousand Years, Together from Dawn to Dusk [Lotus Lantern Fanfiction]

After reading several Lotus Lantern fanfics, including Xiaoyao You, I realized the greatest fun always comes from that bunch from the Chan School~~~ So I decided to take matters into my own hands and develop the Chan School's fiercely protective streak After reading plenty of stories, I have to admit that making the Chan School overwhelmingly powerful raises a few questions: First, Master Yuding and the Immortal-Slaying Sword always make the grandest entrances. But if Yang Jian knew he had a master so fiercely protective that he would destroy all three realms for him, would he really dare to mutilate himself and beg for death? Second, it would certainly be thrilling to see the Twelve Immortals of Kunlun storm the Heavenly Court, but... would the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother really not see it coming? With Yang Jian backed by such a powerful sect, surely they wouldn't go looking for trouble, no matter how much they hated him? Third, given how fiercely Yang Jian protects his own, would he really let his third sister and her family be brutalized after his death? I don't believe for a second that he wouldn't have arranged everything in advance. So, here's how this story resolves those questions: First, Yang Jian thinks his master is dead. Second, the Jade Emperor thinks the Chan School has been wiped out. Third, the all-calculating True Lord thinks someone will have no choice but to clean up after him. Note that all of the above are things they "think." Once these assumptions start falling apart, the story takes a different turn... Also, I'll do my best to keep the characters true to themselves, redeeming those who can be redeemed (Yang Lian, Chenxiang, Nezha, and others), and making sure those who can't be redeemed aren't evil without reason... A fanfic of the original Lotus Lantern drama, reworked from the Battle of Kunlun onward. (The Fourth Dragon Princess does not appear, the truth is never fully revealed, and after Chenxiang defeats Erlang Shen, he successfully splits Mount Hua and the Qian Kun Bowl, uncovering the New Heavenly Rules.) Some elements are inspired by Xiaoyao You and The Prequel to Lotus Lantern. This is noted for the record.
