I rushed out the last few paragraphs of this story, and I'm not very satisfied with them :(
The story is based on a passage from Questions of Heaven in the Songs of Chu:
“The Emperor sent Yi the Archer down to rid the people of calamity. Why did he shoot the River Earl and take his wife, the concubine? ... Zhuo took Chunhu as his wife; beguiled by her beauty, he plotted with her. Why did Yi shoot the hide, and why did they join together to scheme against him?”
Chunhu should have been Hou Yi's wife, and she conspired with Hanzhuo to kill him, but I made a small change.
