"...Are you sure it's okay to bring her here?!" Hot Rod stared, dumbfounded, at the little platinum-colored head peeking out from behind the TF swordsman. "Of course! My little Key is really strong!" The mostly white Autobot reached back with a smug grin and patted the girl on the head twice. "Isn't that right, little Key?" "Chirp, chirp!" Her bright blue optics blinked as the little platinum-colored Autobot nodded vigorously. To convince Hot Rod, she even took the enormous folded scythe from her back and gave it a casual swing. Whoosh! A whole swath of Decepticons fell over. ...No, Drift, you've got it all wrong. Watching the white swordsman rub the platinum-colored TF's head and praise her like a silly dad, Hot Rod silently grumbled to himself. I was worried that once your little Key got excited, she'd hack down all the Decepticons in a few swings, leaving those energetic troublemakers aboard the Lost Light with nothing to play with. This is the story of the adorably clueless Drift traveling the world with a heroine even more clueless than he is. The girl has already maxed out her combat skills. All she needs is a little work on her intelligence and some practice toughening up. Set in the MEMTE world, and only covers events from the first twenty-some chapters. There are quite a few original characters, but only two of them, including the heroine, appear in the main story. The rest are extras used to move the plot along (...). The original couples are little Key and Drift, and Nightbird and Hot Rod, who are more than friends but not quite lovers. To Ford, little Key is just a little sister. Hu Lu and Nightbird will never have feelings beyond friendship. I've only read the More Than Meets the Eye comics, and my grasp of the continuity is seriously lacking, so don't expect this to be free of plot holes~ When I first started writing this, I wanted it to be both angsty and sweet, but now it seems to have turned into a story that's both silly and a total train wreck [lies down] I'll do a major revision after the whole story is finished.
