The idea of past and present lives seems somewhat absurd. Yet whenever I see the phrase and think of what it means, I feel it has a mysterious power, drawing people into endless fantasies while inspiring boundless reverence. Sometimes I wonder: if this idea really is true, is the fate of our present lives determined by the causes and effects set in motion in our past lives? And will everything we do in this life determine our next one? How much control does fate truly have over us? Of all the crossroads we pass, the people we meet, and the stories that unfold, how much say do we really have? Or was everything already destined when we were born, and all we can do is make our way through this life? When I'm weary, I think that if everything is predetermined, then whatever happens and whatever the outcome, there's nothing we can do about it.
Four years of waiting, four years of longing, until at last we meet again, like a dream...
