This story came about because I was longing for a dog I couldn't have.
Puppy Clark met the person who would be by its side for the rest of its life at two months old. This is Clark's journey growing up, and you're welcome to come along and witness it.
As usual, here's a sweet little friendly reminder:
1. This is not a romance. It's about a pet.
2. This is a short story written for practice.
3. The ending is sad: the puppy grows up and eventually dies of natural causes.
4. I did consider leaving things on a happier note, with Clark and "me" living happily together. But I know that no dog can escape death, and every dog owner has to face losing them. I'd rather portray that than avoid it.
Theme:
I remember reading a novel called October before. When I first read it, I almost thought it was written by the same author.
How come it's so short that people can't believe it? Is it over? When I read it, I always felt that there might be a contrast at the end, and that kind of twisting and thinking at the end is the finishing touch.

Touching. I almost cried?
