The name Mu Tiantian has a remarkable origin.
"Sandalwood means 'giving' in Sanskrit. Its wood is hard, its fragrance lasts forever, it is immune to all poisons, and it never decays.
'Heaven' also means the firmament. The bright moon rises over the Tianshan Mountains, amid a vast sea of clouds. It speaks of a breadth capable of embracing all things.
So I shall name you Mu Tiantian, and call you Tian'er for short. Do you like your name, Tian'er?"
But Mu Tiantian is the very definition of someone who doesn't live up to her name, and she proves it with her life!
"I'm the beggar around here, so this place is mine!"
"I feel sorry for what happened to you, and I know you're hungry, but I never said I'd give you half my steamed bun!"
"A kind heart? Hmm... My mother said she boiled mine when I was little."
In short, Mu Tiantian isn't a kind person. That's why Ye Su's life motto goes like this:
"I sacrifice myself for others."
This isn't quite a comedy, nor is it quite a tragedy.
It's half joy and half sorrow, as the beloved loses herself in drunken bliss.
