[Digimon] The Brightest Star (The Best Ending I Wish for You II)

*This is a Digimon Frontier fanfiction. In honor of the 20th anniversary of DF in 2022, the entire story has been revised. The plot hasn't changed much, but the original was only 110,000 words. Another 100,000 words of descriptive detail have been added, making the story flow more smoothly. *The original was written in the summer of 2014 and first published on bbb (the good old days). The story is mainly set in middle school, with the characters' adult lives playing a smaller role. It includes plenty of author-invented details. The author loved writing melodramatic plots as a teenager, so read with caution and please don't flame me. Blurb: The first meeting was chance. The second was fate. Ichibanboshi, the Morning Star, is the brightest light in the long night. *Couple: Minamoto Kouji x Ji Ruanruan Minamoto Kouji X Ji Ruanruan *"Ruan" comes from the name of a traditional musical instrument. (The author was going through an edgy teen phase when writing this, so please bear with me.) Since Japanese has no third tone, Ruan is pronounced with a first tone. Her friends usually call the heroine Ruan-chan. *Other couples: Taku x Izumi; Junpei, Tomoki, and Kouichi each have an original couple. *This is part of a series. The revised version was initially titled Chasing the Light, and the final title is Ichibanboshi. There is also a companion story set in the DA series, but it's an unrevised, embarrassing old work. Please don't read it. Theme: You'd have to ask the 2014 version of me to know... In short, it's a story that's very much like real life being a play, and very melodramatic. The characters have a lot of issues stemming from their families of origin. In any case, it has a happy ending.
