Songs of a Turbulent Age 2: Never Turning Back from the Blade

In a world in chaos, who has time to care whether someone is male or female? A single meal repaid a kindness and turned the mortal world into a tangled romance. The two heroes of Xige walk alone, undaunted even by the point of no return. A shooting star binds them together; an immortal banished to the mortal world arrives by the river, yet old friends who meet again cannot cherish each other. One takes the stage after another, and strangers on life's road recognize a hero. We once laughed at youthful recklessness, only to find that the land endures while all else withers. Love is there, and so is endless hatred; the heart's path is full of obstacles. Call it resentment, call it foolish devotion: beauties have always had difficult fates. A little boat carries countless sorrows. A heart full of passion becomes separation and reunion. Nothing can dissolve the longing between those at opposite ends of the world, nor undo the bond of lovers destined to share a grave. One move outdoes the last, each step more dangerous than the one before, and in the end, fate's cruel twist leaves the living forever parted from the dead. Let me ask: In this boundless world, with every move irreversible, would you give up a kingdom of breathtaking beauty for the one you love? Written about a rare tale from all of history, and people one in ten thousand. Theme: Who says women are inferior to men?
