Playfulness

The commoner Xia Xi was delighted when she became engaged to her childhood friend, Bai Lingying. But Bai was the eldest son of a general, and their families were far from evenly matched. She could only watch him marry the daughter of the current Minister of Personnel, then be taken into the household as a concubine. This... Xia Xi thought it over, packed her things, and ran away from home in the middle of the night. She had heard there was an immortal on Beast Mountain who could grant people’s wishes. She didn’t want to get married anymore. She wanted to ask for the skills to fight evil and uphold justice. Becoming a heroine who roamed the world with a sword sounded good, too. But she forgot: Beast Mountain was home first to hundreds of kinds of ferocious beasts, and only then to the immortal who existed in legend. By the time Bai Lingying found Xia Xi, she had been tightly bound by a gang of bandit women. Soon, he too was tied up like a dumpling. The bandit women forced the two of them to drink nuptial wine, then made them consummate their marriage. But neither of them could hold their liquor. After one cup of wine to celebrate their union, they both passed out. When they woke, the bandits were gone, and in their place was a peach-blossom paradise. A paradise inhabited only by Xia Xi, Bai Lingying, and little animals. #In dreams, I know not that I am a guest, one moment of pleasure *Thanks to Bi Shui for the illustration! Theme: Having loved
