[Journey to the West] All Under Heaven Are Buddhas

The Buddha pities the world: people cannot see through love, hate, anger, and obsession, cannot let go of the seven emotions and six desires, and are forever trapped in the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death. I pity the Buddhas: with their six senses purified, they are devoid of feeling; having emptied themselves of all things, their hearts have withered. They escape reincarnation, yet remain forever alone. And yet, one day, I became one of the Buddhas I had once despised most. In my memory, someone once asked me: Could there ever come a day when all living beings in the three thousand great worlds become Buddhas? Back then, I turned the prayer beads in my hand and replied with my eyes closed: This humble monk travels west to obtain the scriptures so that all the world may become Buddha. What is this blurb even about? Did I actually find a monkey on Mount Emei? Fine, a monkey is a monkey, but why did a pig come home with me after I visited a pigsty in my hometown? And why did someone at the flower and bird market tell me the fish I happened to buy was the Curtain-Rolling General? Those bizarre experiences were already enough! Then, while traveling in Yunnan's Tea Horse Town, someone gave me a White Dragon Horse for free? Wait, does that mean I'm really Tang Sanzang? How could I have forgotten Journey to the West?
