[Hakuoki] Sleeping Beneath the Cherry Blossoms

With only a little time left, my days are slipping away. This spring, as the cherry blossoms fall, I met you... During the week we promised to spend together, did my selfish requests cause you trouble? I know you and I belong to different worlds, with different status and standing. Even so... I still wish I could stay by your side. Beneath the falling cherry blossoms, I watch you walk away. To see you at the very last moment before I leave is a great happiness in itself. Sensei, thank you for talking with me, for bringing me delicious dumplings, for taking me to the wonderful festival and out to eat delicious ramen... I, Sato Sakurako, have no regrets in this life, because I met you. Things to know before reading: 1. The male lead is Saito Hajime. The author always sticks to a one-on-one romance; the other characters appear only to help bring the couple closer. 2. This is a short story and won't be very long. The ending will depend on the response. The original plan was a bad ending, and I have plenty written in advance. 3. The author isn't a stickler for historical accuracy, and will skip over a lot of history. I haven't even got Chinese history straight, let alone Japanese history! 4. The story starts sweet and turns angsty, so brace yourself before reading. 5. If you like the author's style, feel free to check out the other stories in my profile.
