Reflection

The campus unrequited-love story "Planting My Heart in the Wild" is currently updating. Visit my profile to read it.

Epigraph:

I turned the whole world upside down, just to set your reflection right., Zhang Ailing

[Substitute trope]

Gu Mian and Gu Pan are twin sisters, but they were separated when they were ten.

When Gu Mian was eleven, she gained another older brother named Zhou Xufang.

Zhou Xufang was proper and attentive to her in every way, but she never paid him any mind.

The year she graduated from college, her father died unexpectedly, and her half-brother finally showed his true colors.

It was also the beginning of Gu Mian's nightmare.

*

To wake from that nightmare, she willingly became her sister's substitute and deliberately approached Jian Xiangdong.

She betrayed Zhou Xufang, who grabbed her by the throat and warned her, "Do you really think he loves you? He only sees you as a substitute for your sister!"

Watching Zhou Xufang lose control, she smiled all the more smugly. "Even if I'm just a substitute, I love him. I don't love you."

She would rather be loved as her sister's reflection than become Zhou Xufang's plaything and lose her freedom.

A novella, angsty, not contracted

Theme: Only genuine feelings can earn genuine love.
