"The ghost doctor crafted the longevity parasite for the one in her heart..."
"...If some gain long life because of it, others will lose theirs..."
She is an isolated prince's manor's illegitimate daughter, with the blood of invaders in her veins and a life-extending parasite buried within her. Yet she is kind by nature and breathtakingly beautiful. She sees only the kindness and help others offer her, never giving much thought to the schemes hidden behind their false benevolence.
In public, he is the gentle, humble Seventh Prince who stays out of worldly affairs, and the benevolent Lord of Yingxue Pavilion, eager to recruit the talented and devoted to righting wrongs. In private, he is a ruthless, sinister, suspicious schemer. His heart holds only the realm and the throne; romance can serve as a ladder to power.
The aloof young lord who shuns the world, the proud legitimate daughter, the strategist who plans every move, the gentle marquis, the ill-fated beauty, the young prince whose love goes unreturned, the young master whose family was destroyed... The loves and hatreds, hopes and desires of all of them are swept up by a turbulent age and the conflicts of their fathers, carried away like a raging river, never to return.
The longevity parasite,
A love that lasts forever.

I was advised to add a reader's guide to the blurb (this will be updated):
Apart from the opening chapter's introduction, every chapter is long, but they all have plot; they're not padded out.
This is a tragedy set in a time of turmoil, so reading may affect your mood. If you're unsure whether you can handle it, you can try the chapters readers have said are especially upsetting: 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 21, 27, 29
Chapters readers have found relatively lighthearted, or even amusing: 4, 5, 12, 15, 20, 23
Chapters related to Yingxue Pavilion: 4, 15, 23, 24, 26, 27
The previous generation's love and hatred (the relationship pairings form a web of connections, so I can sort them out one by one if needed): 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33
Nianchen and Linruo: 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24(*), 25(*), 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33
Murong Ling and Su Yinglian: 12, 18, 21
Zhao Xi and Shu Yanxi: 8, 22, 27, 32, 36(*), 39(*)
The numbers listed are chapter numbers, not the Chinese numerals in the titles. The asterisks mean you'll probably understand once you click in (ahem).
If you feel down after reading, come back another time. Being happy is what matters most! :)

I'm an idiot. Why do I have to fill out a character profile? Aaaah D:

Updated the cover! A good friend made the original cover, but unfortunately I couldn't keep using it because of the font, so I used the default cover for a long time. I imagine that turned quite a few people away...
For this new cover, I wrote the words on paper, scanned them, and cut them out. It didn't turn out as well as I imagined, but it's better than nothing. I'll change the cover again if I write more attractive characters or improve my ink painting skills :)
Theme: Only those who care for all under heaven can be true heroes.
This section about blaming the ministers was actually quite irritating. When I first watched it, I commented passionately because the emperor and empress were particularly uncomfortable with their disagreements...
Murong Pei and Shen Ying: Mr. Murong, who has been kidnapped by Yu Zhong for generations, and Miss Jiao, the unparalleled talent and love of the Shen family. (To summarize for the teacher, the chapters where this pair of CPs are mentioned are 9, 10, 11, and 28) Shen Ying has been in unrequited love with Murong Pei for many years, and she doesn't hide her love for him at all. As a talented girl from the south of the Yangtze River, she had her own ambitions. She wanted to write a storybook that would shock the world, so that she could become famous all over the world, and then she could naturally ask to marry her favorite son. Tuanluo was asked to cut his hair and braid it into knots, but his own female worker wasted no time. Murong Pei probably realized belatedly that this Miss Shen Ying liked him, but fell in love with Shen Ying very deeply. As the eldest son who would succeed the Murong family, he did not want Shen Ying to be controlled by the imperial power like Mrs. Murong in the past, so he decided to cut off her hair to worship her ancestors and leave the family for her. But at that time, Shen Ying must have entered the palace for some reason to become the concubine of her close friend's sweetheart, but Murong Pei still couldn't disobey the holy order to get his beloved back. He was seriously ill and begged for death. After being cured by Tuoluo, he recognized his master and returned to the clan again, and accepted the fate of the Murong family's curse of foolish loyalty for generations that he could never escape. The two got married and had children respectively. Murong Pei lost his wife early, and Shen Ying lost his heart early. They lived their whole lives apart from each other. Before his death, Murong Pei gave three strands of white hair to his wife who died young and his only son. He did not tell the last strand, but Tuanluo, who had been an old friend for many years, knew that it was given to Shen Ying. He couldn't let go after all, and neither could she. Years in the palace actually allowed her to learn how to be a female worker, and she was able to braid her black hair and his white hair into a concentric knot, finally settling a long-dead girl's heart. The most annoying thing about this couple of CPs is that Murong Pei never mentioned Shen Ying in the article, but whether it was Tuanluo, Yu Wenhuan, Nian Chen, or Wen Fu, everyone knew that the one he loved was her, but she would say: "It is useless to talk about the past for a dead person. He also had a wife and children, so where does the deep affection come from?" Yu Wenhuan and Queen Xiahou: The emperor who wants to eradicate the Xiahou family and the charming and smiling eldest daughter of the Xiahou family. (The main ones mentioned are 23 and 29, but I am very discerning and found that 10 and 22 also mentioned the Queen!) "Her nickname is Zhu'er, she is as bright as her name, and her smile is light and pear-shaped." Queen Xiahou married into the palace and became the queen when she was sixteen years old. She was jealous of her cousin Princess Nan for her whole life, but her husband knew that marrying her was inherently satisfying. It was a calculation, so such a bright and smiling beauty was trapped in this golden birdcage all her life. She grew up from a clumsy and childish girl to a queen with a pampered mother, and finally turned into a naked and sexy ghost. Even her niece felt pity for her. Several years after getting married, Yu Wenhuan brought a child back to the palace. He only cared about loving the child. Even after hearing the news, she became so angry and sad that she had a miscarriage and never got pregnant again. It was not until the next year that she found out. However, she did not make any fuss or fuss. In the ice-covered palace, only her child gave her comfort, but later the child whom she loved and cared about disappeared because of the child her husband favored. She had always known that her mother's family was domineering, but in her early years she only wanted to win her husband's love and affection. "Although she was sensible, she did not practice the law." However, she finally made up her mind to use her own life to not only ruin Nianchen's reputation, but also bring trouble to her mother's family. It was only when she died that she discovered that her mother's family had plotted against her just as she plotted against them, and the person who understood her painstaking efforts turned out to be Nian Chen, whom she originally hated to assassinate. As for her once beloved husband, he had been with her for so long, and he didn't even know what she really liked after her death. Yu Wenhuan probably didn't put any thought into her at all, so he thought to himself that she liked Tianzhu just because of the Tianzhu bonsai. But she likes the bonsai, not because it is made of jade and gemstones, but because it is the first gift he gave personally. He used the fact that he liked Tuoluo to cover up the fact that he was ruthless towards the queen. Why did he say sadly, "She really left" in the end? If he found out in the end that he didn't have any affection for her at all, why did he smash the Tianzhu bonsai she liked? "If you ignore the fine lines, the jade will be broken. Jade would rather be broken than be intact." I think it's not unreasonable for the teacher to say that he often cried when he wrote, because even after reading this, I was just sorting out the plot, and I couldn't help but want to cry.
The teacher's writing is really good. I cried a lot during the chapters that were listed. When I read this chapter for the first time, I thought, it turns out that in addition to the relationship between men and women, the knife between friends, mother and son, and brothers can also be so painful. The scene between Cheng Tuanluo and Yun Fei was really tearful. Her current martial arts strength is so strong that she can carry her everywhere, but she is so skinny that it doesn't take much effort to carry her. The events of that year appear bit by bit in the main text and are narrated in the text. It is really hurtful for these old people to say it calmly. Concubine Yun must have been a girl who didn't want to lose to a man. She wanted to be famous in the world and get married with her sweetheart, but she ended up alone in the palace, losing her husband's love and her child. Fortunately, in the end, Tuanluo allowed her to choose her own ending. It is a beautiful thing to see your beloved before death, but we outsiders who are watching know that this is just an illusion of obsession. In addition, I think the reason why the male protagonist is so dark and twisted is because he has always had no sense of security. Before her death, Concubine Qing accused Concubine Yun, who later cared for him so much, that there would always be an unbreakable gap between him and his adoptive mother. It was the same with the Ninth Prince. Concubine Qing's move was really cruel. Later, he was favored by his father, but after gaining the power to supervise the country, he could not protect his sister, so he left in disappointment. He must have suffered a lot of injuries and suffered a lot when he went to explore the world. After he came back, he found that his father sent someone to assassinate him. How pitiful. So the Ninth Prince, who followed his brother like a puppy, did something wrong to be thrown away by his favorite brother! Protecting puppies starts with me!
When will the teacher come back and update? Woohoo.
Suddenly I remembered, in the previous generation, were Zhao Mengji and Liu Lang the only ones whose love and concubine died a good death? Judging from the situation, I guess they were also very sweet when they were young. I envy them for all the other CPs who are separated by yin and yang, woo woo woo
Please regard this torpedo as my meal money, and please feed your children more food!
It's so cruel (wiping tears) but it smells so good (wiping saliva)
! The ending seems to have the flavor of being an insider!
I didn't realize it when I saw it before. Is that figure in plain clothes and black silk stockings Master??? Or is it Benru's hallucination??? Huh???!
Will the teacher write in detail the stories of the previous generation in the future? Every single couple was tortured, and they all ended badly. We can only see the good times in the past in these fragmentary memories. In the past, the master was a girl who could laugh, and in the past, Yu Wenhuan was a young man who could foolishly grind beads. Why did he end up like this? .
