"You're a demon. You can't be happy."
Those were the first words her mother said to her when she was born, and the only belief she held to as she grew up: protect her younger sister... It seemed like the kind of thing Sakazuki Flora, the older sister, ought to do. Her younger sister stabbed her? No matter, wounds always heal. Her friend was killed? Never mind, new friends will come along.
Maybe he changed her values. Born into a Marines family, yet a slave from birth? The truth she believed in seemed to change as she grew older and learned more about it. It was Ace, his sunshine and warmth, that gave her the strength to protect everything she loved. But what about the ending?
"I'll stay far, far away from you, so please... don't hate me." On a battlefield ablaze with fire, everything that had once warmed her was now being burned away. When their feelings had already been destroyed, how easy was it to say, "Don't hate me"?
Thanks to Liujiang for the comment. I admit this story is full of pitfalls: the heroine is too much of a Mary Sue, the plot is too melodramatic, and the male lead appears far too late. But I promise I'll update quickly and finish it soon, then tear the whole thing down and rewrite it from scratch. For now... let me just delete that awful, pretentious old blurb!
P.S. If you think the heroine knows too much or is too clever for her age, please read chapters 73 and 74. All the spoilers and answers are there.
Spoilers below: The heroine is an artificial human, made from a variety of genes. Her actual age is twenty-two, while her mental age is just what she thinks it is. For the rest... you'll have to read it yourself!
This little story is finished! I'll occasionally post various extras, so stay tuned.
Theme:
A bunch of Caps, what happened to Ace??
The justice implemented by Sakaski does not tolerate any crime, right? That is, pirates. Although the attitude of the Navy Headquarters towards slaves varies from person to person, it is generally sympathetic, angry and helpless, right? Hmm... As a naval cook, I feel a little uncomfortable.
Can the author be less abusive?
Really? That one will cause a fever later⊙_⊙
I couldn't stand it after reading the beginning. I prefer the navy, but Sakaski's character is a bit too bad.
However, after watching HE, I still feel so cruel
Is the male protagonist Ace or Shanks?
Ai, aisnisan! +V<
The author has great writing skills, why are there so few comments?
It is completely unscientific for the heroine to be mysterious at such a young age...
