The Asahina family has thirteen children, and every one of them is a fine specimen. Yet among these fine specimens, there is a girl who quietly smiles, giving them encouragement and trust.

Her name is Asahina Kazane. She is Asahina Futo's twin sister, a "healthy" and lovely girl who is deaf, has a sluggish language system, cannot say more than 20 words at a time, and has dulled touch.

Perhaps Heaven took pity on her and granted her the ability to communicate with animals and plants, and to control plants when necessary, though using this special power comes at the price of falling into a deep sleep.
