[Harry Potter, Medieval AU] The Black Peacock Dynasty

In a Middle Ages of swords and fire, wizards are forced to conceal their identities. In 1204, the Crusaders on their eastern campaign breached Constantinople, the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. Among the Western European knights who entered the city to plunder it was a group of people who had no place in history. For instance, a British earl named Salazar Slytherin, or a British knight named Snake Malfoi. In 1252, Lucius Abraxas Malfoy, one of the protagonists of our story, was born in the prosperous barony of Malfoy. In 1257, our second protagonist, Severus Tobias Snape, was born into a family of apothecaries in Bristol, the busiest port city in the Hogsmeade parish. What will happen when Viscount Lucius Malfoy, who enjoys the Hellenistic lifestyle, fine clothes, and good food, meets the missionary Severus Snape, who wants more parchment on which to copy books? Pairings: LM/SS, switching; DM/HP will appear later. Note: This is a fictional low-magic world. Thirteenth-century England is more chaotic than it was historically, and its military and technological development is also somewhat less advanced. Warnings: Alternate universe! Switching! An assertive, childish SS! LM angst! Also, I've recently written a Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality fanfic: [HP][HPMOR] Resurrection Looking for fan art and comments.
