Lin Yi slowly raised his knife, his eyes cold as he pointed it at Yi Qing. In a low voice, he asked, "Are you worried about him?"
"What are you talking about? Have some sense, will you? He's your own cousin!" Yi Qing said.
"He's my cousin too. Why are you so worked up?" His icy tone left no room for argument.
Jian Xi spoke up at once. "Lin Yi, are you insane?"
"If I'm insane, it's because you drove me to it. You're so good at putting on an act. You let me cut you once on the left and once on the right, and both times you avoided anything vital. You're a bastard, always trying to take everything from me. When we were kids, you wanted my life. Now you want to steal the person I love? Don't even dream of it. What makes you think you can compete with me? You don't even know how long you'll be alive."
One mistake, eight years.
Yi Qing sobbed on her hospital bed so hard she could barely breathe.
Jian Xi stood outside the hospital, dark and cold, watching the rain turn the streets into a city of blossoms.
