A Tale of Tricking Readers

Cheng Zi was a mean-spirited author who loved to leave readers hanging right at the climax, then never fill in the gaps, no matter how much they wailed. At long last, she transmigrated, living up to everyone's expectations. Fortunately, her readers still had their heads on straight, and Cheng Zi's new life was just as comfortable as ever: a parallel world, with history unfolding exactly as it had before, only three or four decades later. Cheng Zi scratched her head, then started another story. It was still just as delightful to watch readers struggling at the bottom of a pit. When she was caught in real life and her secret identity exposed, Cheng Zi lit a cigarette and slowly savored the other person's live performance of a face twisted with conflicting emotions. There is a couple in this story, but their relationship is so faint you could mistake it for nothing at all, and they don't appear until late. The story never confirms whether they end up together, so it's fine to read this as having no pairing. This is more like a chronicle. I'll try not to make it too dull, but for the most part, I'll write according to my own whims. Please bear with me. If you really can't, please let me off the hook, QAQ. [In my opinion, the title says everything this story is trying to express.] A long, long time later, when Jiang Lin found out that someone close to him was the legendary Pit God, he couldn't help digging up the Pit God's stories and asking about the endings one by one. Jiang Lin: "What was the ending you imagined for this one?" Cheng Zi: "Oh, it went like this." And on and on. Jiang Lin: "Damn it! That ending is even more of a cliffhanger than if you'd just abandoned the story!" Cheng Zi: "That's why I left it unfinished." Jiang Lin stared at the sobbing reviews section, tears streaming down his face: You're all too naive!
