A Letter of Apology to My Readers
First, I want to offer everyone my sincere apologies. This book is going to have a rushed ending. At first, I didn't want to explain the specific reason, because it's honestly very embarrassing for me. But after thinking it over and over, I decided that wouldn't be right. I owe it to everyone who has read my story, and to the girls who paid to read it, to take responsibility. I can't just brush you off by saying something came up in real life. So I've written down what I've been thinking. If you can forgive me now, or don't want to hear me ramble, you can skip straight to the last paragraph.
I first got into novels in middle school, when I read printed books. I'd stack a pile of textbooks on my desk and hide magazines like Boys and Girls behind them, getting lost in them during breaks and playing cat and mouse with the teacher in class. I also swapped books with my classmates. We followed one story after another, sharing the characters' joys and sorrows. Sometimes I imagined myself in their place, living a different life.
But for high school and the college entrance exams, all those colorful fantasies were junk that belonged in the recycling bin. So I locked away that passion and love for reading, and the classmates I used to trade novels with went off to different high schools. At last, the curtain fell and we parted ways. Novels disappeared from my life completely.
Then I went to university, and suddenly I had plenty of time to myself. Along with the feeling of being set free from the reins came the boredom and emptiness of not knowing what to do. That's when I remembered novels. Yes, what a wonderful thing to celebrate! Now I could read as much as I wanted. And so began four years of obsession. I barely scraped through my exams, had practically no social life, and spent all my time at home, at home, at home. When I graduated, I realized I had nothing to show for it and could only slink back to my hometown.
Back then, I comforted myself by saying I could just find any job and earn enough to get by. As long as I could do what I liked, what did it matter? A house, marriage, children? I could rent a place, and as for children, there was nothing wrong with staying single for life. In short, I was being reckless and giving no serious thought to the future. I remember reading a story about a fisherman and a rich man sunbathing. The rich man had worked hard all his life, only to end up sunbathing under the same sun as the fisherman. Back then, I thought that instead of working hard to become rich and only getting to relax in the sun after turning fifty, it was better to be a happy fisherman from the start and enjoy every day.
Life back home really was easygoing, but some unpleasant things happened too. "They graduated from XX University, so how can they be so XXX?" I'll just block those words out. In short, they weren't kind. My XX heard them and was very upset. They didn't show it, but I knew they were upset. I suddenly realized that maybe I didn't care (all right, I admit I cared a lot... smack, what a hypocrite), but what about my family? They definitely cared. They love me and worry about me, so they couldn't help being concerned. "She's so irresponsible and hasn't planned anything at all. How is she going to manage in the future?" I suddenly realized that my carefree happiness came at the expense of my family's distress. I couldn't be so selfish and make them suffer like that. I had to take responsibility for my own life. I decided that starting today, I would break up with novels.
Anyway, goodbye, Jinjiang. Goodbye, my dear readers. Goodbye, unfinished novels. Goodbye, dear editor. But I won't forget that there's still a story here I haven't finished. Once I get settled, I'll come back and finish it. I'll only be doing it as a hobby then, though, so I'll probably write very slowly (ducking behind a pot lid, please don't hit me).
As for Jinjiang removing the paywall, I think it happens automatically after a story has been abandoned for three months. I'll ask my editor if it can be removed earlier. The System will refund half of the author's earnings, but the other half paid to Jinjiang won't be returned. However, since you lost out because I broke my promise, I'll ask my editor whether I can pay to refund you the other half too. If that's not possible, I'll return the remaining half in the form of red envelopes. If you bought the paid chapters, please leave a comment below the last chapter you purchased and tell me how many points you spent. Red envelope amounts have to be whole numbers, so I'll have to round them.
I asked my editor, and they said I should see things through to the end. So I've decided to finish this story, and I'll try to wrap it up this week. It may be a rushed ending, but that's better than leaving it abandoned. However, that means the paywall can't be removed, so please tell me how many points you spent. I'll return them in the form of red envelopes. No one has asked me to refund their points today. Maybe you don't think it's a lot, or you're being considerate because writing isn't easy. Thank you for understanding, but I still hope you'll accept my apology so I can feel a little more at ease.
What a bitch, what a holy mother, I can't stand it anymore
Yimi's writing here is ridiculous = = There is no foreshadowing, so many zombies appear "suddenly"... The author please revise it
Insisting on no CP, in fact, what we like most is the happy, inspiring and sunny companion-oriented stuff like One Piece...
I think it's weird that Xun Qi always touches the ring. I know it when I do this action. On the one hand, it's very girly. On the other hand, if you want to show that you are thinking, you usually turn the ring instead of touching it. And this action happened many times. Basically, whenever Xun Qi appears, he will touch the ring and return the white jade ring. If white jade is set into a ring surface, it usually looks very explosive. If it is a ring engraved with white jade, you can refer to the ring. White jade basically cannot be made into a ring. Think about the thickness of the ring. Unless you want to write that this ring is a family heirloom with some space inside, it really feels like a failure. If it was a family heirloom, who would get such a fragile thing as a family heirloom token?
And what does Xun Qi say? Just because the heroine saved him once, it is normal to be interested in the heroine, but his first reaction is not to thank the heroine, but to dig out all the secrets of the heroine, which is a bit too much. This kind of description always gives people, or at least it gives me the impression that Xun Qi is an arrogant man who is completely ungrateful and has a strong desire to control. Although it seems cute in romance novels that the male protagonist is very controlling over the female protagonist, it really makes people feel uncomfortable. Does he like the heroine, or does he like the feeling that he can control everything. Moreover, male MS who are very controlling usually turn into domestic violence.
If you want Xun Qi to be the male protagonist, I suggest the author change the way he describes it. The author seems to want to write about a strong and calm man, but in fact Xun Qi not only looks very powerful but also has a sinister side. The heroine was framed. What Fang did is basically considered murder in the apocalypse. He just said a few words and was put in solitary confinement. If the heroine didn't have a golden finger, she would probably have no bones left. He can't even control his own team. Is his younger brother autistic or mentally ill? He has an inexplicable fiancée. His mental activities seem to be constantly calculating but nothing comes of it. It's easy for people to doubt his IQ.
Xun Qi falls in love with the heroine inexplicably, and the writing style is very strange, like a very cheerful and trying to maintain the feeling of a serious drama. The heroine is a bit too subtle, and the plot of fighting monsters is relatively streamlined, a bit like fighting monsters in an online game.
I also insist on no CP! Having a partner is much better than having a lover.
If the heroine chooses to be with Xun Qi in the end, it means she completely accepts incompetence. If nothing else, I just said that Xun Qi had calculated several completely innocent lives, and I thought he was disgusting. Why do you have the nerve to engage in sadomasochistic love? If he didn't commit suicide himself, he wouldn't have such consequences.
Of course, if the heroine ends up with Xun Qi, would she feel guilty if she occasionally thinks of those who died innocently and tragically?
