The story is inspired by a vague childhood memory of the author. The young girl Jiang Lansheng is lonely, delicate and sensitive. She stayed in the hospital to avoid school. During this period, she met Gu Xiaochuan, a young man who was also hospitalized. Gu Xiaochuan's tenderness towards Jiang Lansheng allowed her to gradually open her heart and begin to learn to get along with others, while a hazy green emotion also spread between the two. Jiang Lansheng came back to visit Gu Xiaochuan again soon after being discharged from the hospital. What awaited her was a sad ending.
