"Among birds there is the phoenix, and among fish there is the Kun" - Song Yu, Answers to the King of Chu
"The mother dragon is called a jiao" - Baopuzi
The phoenix is the foremost of all birds. It perches on lofty branches, solitary and noble all its life, and serves as a metaphor for emperors.
The jiao is like a dragon, but not quite a dragon, both righteous and wicked. It spends its life waiting for rain, hoping to take flight, and serves as a metaphor for the common man.
Born with an ordinary body and a lowly fate, why resent princes and nobles?
One day, the jiao dragon catches the clouds and rain, and is no longer the stinking creature it once was in its pond.
If today's society is filled with stories of ordinary men falling for beautiful, rich women, and beautiful, rich women pining for phoenix men, then how would such a tale begin and end in an ancient feudal dynasty?
This is a new story. You could call it a sequel to The Ballad of Qingxue, but some characters are recurring figures from the prequel, The Ballad of Qingxue, and there are also some ties to its foreshadowing and plot, though not many. Read on and it will all become clear, so if you readers happen to feel a little lost now and then, please bear with me...
As the author, I am fonder of this installment than the prequel. Whether it is fame, fortune, love, or people, no matter how unwilling we are, sooner or later, we will all have to let go...
Below is a video of the prequel, featuring all three main characters. I hope it gives those who haven't read the prequel a general impression.
I have not delved deeply into classical Chinese, so I don't expect readers from near and far to shower me with praise and cheers. I only hope you'll leave a little sign that you were here. My thanks to you all.
Below is my author page. If you're passing by, please add it to your favorites. I would be very grateful...
Isn't the author coming back? I want to know where the Queen belongs in the end. Woo woo woo
I jumped into it even though I knew it was a trap. I hope I can see the end of this article in my lifetime. There is a strange feeling. Seeing that the older generation is like this anyway, I am not so afraid of torturing them again, and I am full of expectations for their follow-up. But the younger generation is only at the beginning. Generally speaking, things are not too bad. I feel that they will be mistreated in the future, and I don't want to see their follow-up.
I don't know what happened in the middle, I can't understand Ran Bing's operation
Is there any more updates to this article? It's hard to start even if I want to re-read it.
What a surprise! What a surprise! Finally I can continue to pursue articles.
Only by experiencing it can you have a taste of it.
I really, madam, madam, madam, madam, want to see Qiu Bing together. Can these two people get together quickly?
In fact, this is an article I read many years ago. What I am most concerned about is the relationship between Qiu Haizhi and Ran Bing. If there is any misunderstanding, just let it go. Why do you need to go around in such a big circle? Ran Bing thinks that after she also has a child, can she and Haizhi be together? Obviously it would have been fine if I had made it clear at the beginning. I wonder if the author can read the comments. I really hope to get a reply!!
Seriously wait for the article to read
It's so hard to tolerate people who read such a good article. . . If you become a waiting party, the author Chicory must not give up. . . .
