Earth Is Fragile, Handle with Care

Blurb: Once upon a time, there was a terrifying alien demon king who was obsessed with destroying Earth. There was no sign his long, embarrassing phase would ever end: “A fragile planet like a glass marble can be taken care of with a single antimatter charge.” “Feeble creatures like humans, with no potential to evolve, would be better off being kept as slaves for pandas.” “Tremble, foolish mortals!” “Let me cleanse this filthy, vile world!” Just as Earth was teetering on the brink of destruction, Yi Chu, the Earthling who shared a home with the demon king, always arrived at the crucial moment. He'd smack the demon king's delusions away and drag him home for dinner: “Give it a rest. Instead of starting World War III, you could come home and help me pick vegetables.” “Earth is a dangerous planet. Every year, lots of demon kings come here and meet a tragic end.” “Sorry, but your chef is a mere mortal, too.” “What do you mean, World War III? Food prices will go up, okay? Do you still want to eat wontons? There won't be any street-stall wontons once the war starts.” And so, in this endless cycle of one bringing the other to heel, the alien demon king was turned into a loyal defender of Earth. A domestic husband saves the world. Amen. Short blurb: The story of an Earthling domestic husband saving an embarrassing alien and the planet. Same series as The Alien Affairs Office. Click here. Work has been keeping me busy in real life, so I dug this old story out of my files. I wrote it around the same time as The Alien Affairs Office. It's a little shorter, and I made a few edits before posting it... I feel like my writing now is worse than it was two years ago... How sad. (?ω`.) Theme:
