Changing Places for Love [Reborn]

[Because of changing times and shifts in my personal values, the old story has been locked. I'm starting over with entirely new content, a story akin to a parallel world.

The old story, Multiple Reversals: Rebirth, was begun in April 2011, fifteen years ago.]

Han Qinghe sometimes wonders whether the pursuit and entanglement between him and Shen Yu are simply the result of such a high sunk cost that neither of them can bear to give up.

If they hadn't spent those final years of his previous life together day and night, perhaps he really could have given up, could have let go.

But he had seen Shen Yu at his best, and the pain of having something and then losing it was worse than never having had it at all.

He doesn't know whether love drives him or obsession is at work. He only knows that even if he could live his life over, he would still bind the rest of Shen Yu's life to his, no matter the cost.

Content warnings:

1. The bottom switches to the top. In their previous life, Han was the bottom and Shen was the top. After being reborn, Han is the top and Shen is the bottom. There is no switching back after rebirth.

2. Younger man/older man, with a 12-year age gap. Han Qinghe is 18 when they first meet.

3. Not an exclusive relationship history. Shen Yu has had plenty of romantic experience.

4. A parallel timeline, not the real world. Any differences from reality are unique developments in this timeline.

Additional notes:

1. The main characters in this story have fairly sound values. The characters in the old story leaned more toward being outlaws, so their characterizations differ considerably.

2. All chapters of the old story except the first are temporarily locked. They will be updated after this story is complete, as another possibility in a parallel world.

3. I've run out of chapters in reserve, so I'll write as I post and aim to update every other day.
