Deep in the woods east of this mountain lies a great lake.
The locals all call it Moon Lake.
It lies quietly in the mountains, accompanied by nothing but the moon, the gentle breeze, and the beautiful water hemlock.
Each night, beneath the moonlight, the water hemlock’s elegant pale-purple blossoms make Moon Lake shine like a deep blue-violet gem, mysterious and beautiful.
Yet beauty often has a sinister side, and mysterious places always seem to go hand in hand with legends.
Legends.
They say the beautiful water hemlock is poisonous, and anyone who eats it by mistake will die within three shichen, sooner or later.
The souls of those who die from its poison remain in the mortal world. Until another person dies from the poison, they have no way to return to the afterlife.
They say the ghost, denied rebirth, appears by Moon Lake every night.
Keeping watch over the lake, waiting.
