Traces of Moonlight

Rain outside the window beat relentlessly against my field of vision, blurring a town that was already dim. I took a few casual deep breaths, as if matching the world's own panting. I knew that if memories were nothing but dreams I could never grasp again, all I could do was tap at the keyboard and record every unreal recollection. No one wants to admit those exhausted struggles, those scenes that went against their wishes, those long-vanished days that still linger quietly in their hearts. All that's left are a few feeble lines of text to prove I once came into this world. I never managed to understand this world, so I drifted, unsettled and helpless.
