A thousand-year-old tanuki spirit once played a prank that accidentally drove a virtuous monk to his death, and so began a thousand-year debt of love. Beneath the moon of the Yellow Springs, foxfire dances. Ghosts, fox spirits, gods, and monsters all lament. The monk is reincarnated, passing through several lifetimes and enduring many tribulations. In his first life, he becomes an unlucky man who loves men; in his second, he simply becomes a woman; in his third, he nearly loses himself. The tanuki always makes things worse while trying to help, but how can one see through the mortal world without enduring the trials of love? And so, every transformation is part of fate's design. A dreamlike tale unfolds beneath the lanterns!

The fox demon loves to tease Shota.
Laughing to death. I can only interpret this as the author's bad taste. Will the fox demon finally achieve enlightenment and be born?
Laughing to death. The fox demon is so cute.
