The story takes place in Konoha, a shinobi village in the Land of Fire. As everyone knows, Konoha is the most powerful shinobi village, and life there is peaceful. Ever since the village shrine was destroyed last winter, a building covered in demon bells has risen in a forest that had long been abandoned. The Asakanomiya family of sorcerers moved in immediately afterward. Yet no one who enters the place ever comes back out. Not even their bodies remain.
Uchiha Itachi, the eldest son of the Uchiha clan, discovers something strange and informs the village leaders, only to receive a warning rebuke. Just when he feels helpless, Shisui the Body Flicker, who also finds the situation suspicious, expresses his understanding and joins him in investigating. A clinic that appeared out of nowhere, a mysterious curse passed down through the ages, and bloody human sacrifices: the closer they get to the end, the more horrified they become. The pile of corpses grows ever higher, and the mystery of Asakanomiya is finally revealed. Just when they think it will all be over, they fail to realize that the terrible calamity has never truly gone away...
