[Journey to the West Fanfiction/All Sun Wukong] The Mortal Realm

The year the Great Sage Equal to Heaven was pinned beneath Five-Finger Mountain, I was reborn as a celestial being in Lingxiao Palace. One sentence from Tathagata Buddha condemned him to five hundred years beneath the mountain. The Jade Emperor sent me to watch over him in Heaven for five hundred days. One day in Heaven equals one year on Earth, so I stayed by his side for a year and four months. The wait was too long, and life too short. I watched the seas turn into mulberry fields again and again. By now, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven had also put on the tightening band, And he comforted himself, saying it was another form of cultivation. After enduring the Eighty-One Tribulations, they finally reached the Western Heaven. After countless dangers, it turned out the journey had been for a reunion with an enemy. Five hundred years later, youth was gone. He gained the scriptures, but lost everything. The world may change, but love is hard to alter. I still miss the cave beneath a curtain of water on Flower-Fruit Mountain. People have retold the story in countless ways, And tales of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven's whereabouts are nothing but hearsay. Ten thousand years later, I had retired to a lesser role in the Celestial Court, Yet strangely, the Jade Emperor still looked just as he had all those years ago. Fairyland wine and nectar made me feel as though I had returned to the Peach Banquet of old. After all the ups and downs, all like fleeting clouds, I realized that my world had always been among mortals. Theme:
